Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that are required including emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is simple to use and intuitive, allowing you to see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its course automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-filling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to reach under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condos with limited space. robot hoover tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have many characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. It's a system that we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a great method to keep your home clean for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app lets you make these settings or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also offers a number of functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
